In the beginning, Highmarket Wheelers was a group of local people that met to ride atvs and have fun. In 1998 a small group of those locals decided to make the group official and the Highmarket Wheelers ATV Club Inc. was incorporated. Their goal was to ride safe, open roads/trails for riding, help the community and local businesses grow. We are located in Lewis County on Tug Hill. We have trails in the towns of Turin and West Turin and also have access to 100's of miles of trails and open roads. The construction of a Wind Mill Farm in the Town of Martinsburg in 2005 has attracted many avid ATV riders to the area.
Today the Highmarket Wheelers Club has over 500 members from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Delaware, Vermont and Connecticut. We work with the county, towns, businesses and private landowners to expand the trail system. We are the only club that maintains/insures some of the private landowner off-road trails. Your membership dues are used for insurance and trail development and maintenance. We have several events (poker runs) during the season to raise money for trail development and will be adding family rides/events as well as a charity event.
